Introducing Sawyer James

We're thrilled to welcome Portland-native Sawyer James to our community and help him with the release of his first record, SON.

Sawyer James comes to Chicago (and Preserve) with Phil Elverum in his headphones and hunger in his heart. Though humbled by 2020's pervasive uncertainty, Sawyer is ready as ever to take part in the world’s alchemy; to serve as prism for whatever sounds may emerge.

Sawyer James' first single “...Pancakes!”,  is a sensuous achievement. On the track, Hushed vocals, shoegaze fuzz, and birds and bells syphoned from a Zoom meditation session weave together beneath a simple poem of nostalgic reckoning.

The debut album, SON, comes out via Preserve  on September 18th, 2020
